The short version. The Crash Warning app collects nothing, and everything it reads stays on your Mac. This website keeps one thing, the email address you leave on the waitlist, so I can tell you when the app is out.

Who I am

Crash Warning is made by Celia Rozalén, an independent developer (celiarozalenm.com). I am responsible for the data described here. You can reach me at support@getcrashwarning.com.

The app

To do its job, Crash Warning reads information about your Mac. How much memory is free, how much of the disk is used as memory, free disk space, which apps and processes are running and how much memory each one uses, and how big certain cache folders are.

All of this is read and used on your Mac only. The app has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising, and it does not send any of this information to me or to anyone else. Your settings are kept in the app’s own preferences on your Mac.

The app asks macOS for a few permissions, each for one reason. Notifications, to send its alerts. Focus status, to tell you when a Focus is holding alerts back. Talking to Finder, to measure and empty the Trash when you ask it to. App Management, for the few caches that contain a copy of another app. You can turn any of them off in System Settings.

This website

If you join the waitlist, I store your email address and the date and time you joined. That is all. I use it for one thing, to email you when Crash Warning is available. I do not share it, sell it or add it to any other list, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.

The list is kept in a database run by Cloudflare, which also hosts this website. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. This site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to see the email I hold for you, or to delete it, by writing to support@getcrashwarning.com. I will do it and confirm. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Buying the app

Purchases are not open yet. When they are, payment will be handled by a payment provider that acts as the seller of record, and this page will be updated to say which one and what it receives.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the change affects how your email is used, I will tell you before it applies.
